The drug must not be used

– if you suffer from alcohol dependence. Do not use in children under 12 years of age as internally acting salicylates are associated with Reye’s syndrome in children. Reye’s Syndrome is a very rare disease that damages the brain and liver and can be fatal. No confirmed cases of Reye’s syndrome have been reported in association with topical salicylates.
