Indications
This medicine is an analgesic (relieves pain) and antipyretic (reduces fever) and contains paracetamol.
It is used to treat pain and/or fever, such as in cases of headache, flu, toothache, body aches, painful menstruation.
Dosage
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 or 6 doses, i.e. approximately 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 10 mg/kg every 4 hours.
Examples:
· For children weighing 11 to 16 kg (approximately 18 months to 5 years): The usual dose is 1 sachet per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, not to exceed 4 sachets per day.
· For children weighing 17 to 20 kg (approximately 4 to 7 years): The usual dosage is 1 sachet per dose, repeated if necessary after 4 hours, not exceeding 6 sachets per day.
· For children weighing 21 to 25 kg (approximately 6 to 10 years): The usual dose is 2 sachets per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, not exceeding 8 sachets per day.
Unless medical advice is given, the duration of treatment is limited to:
5 days in case of pain.
3 days for fever.
Method and route of administration
This medicine is taken orally.
The suspension can be drunk neat or diluted with a small amount of drink (for example, water, milk, fruit juice).
