Okitasc is an over-the-counter medicine for the symptomatic relief of pain and fever in adults over 18 years of age.
The active ingredient is the lysine salt of ketoprofen, which belongs to a group of medications called “nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).”
These drugs provide short-term relief by changing the body’s response to pain, swelling, and fever.
The effect of the product begins after the 5th minute, which makes it suitable for relieving headaches from the first symptoms.
Dosage and method of administration
Take 1 sachet 2-3 times a day as needed. There should be at least 4 hours between doses.
If symptoms persist for more than three days with fever or five days with pain or worsen, contact your doctor.
Contraindications
Do not take Okitask:
if you are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in step b)
if you suffer from asthma or have a history of allergic reactions to NSAIDs (eg acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen)
in the third trimester of pregnancy.
If you have a severe heart condition in which your heart does not work as well as it should.
if you suffer or have had bowel problems such as: active peptic ulcer; o stomach or intestinal ulcers; intestinal bleeding; perforation of the stomach or esophagus (gastrointestinal perforation); o stomach pain or upset, which may include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, bloating and stomach discomfort (chronic dyspepsia); inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis)
if you have a low blood cell count (leukopenia or thrombocytopenia), active bleeding, or a tendency to bleed while being treated with medicines that help prevent blood clots (anticoagulants)
if you have serious kidney or liver problems.
If you notice any signs of rash, redness and tenderness of the skin around your body openings (mucous membranes) or allergic reactions after taking Okitasc, stop taking this medication and tell your doctor immediately.
If you notice any signs of bleeding in your stomach or intestines (such as bright red stools, black tarry stools, vomiting blood, or dark particles that look like coffee grounds), stop taking this medication and tell your doctor right away.
If you notice any signs of an ulcer or perforation (symptoms may include: severe abdominal pain, chills, nausea, vomiting; heartburn) after taking Okitasc, stop taking this medication and tell your doctor immediately.
Older people may experience more side effects from taking NSAIDs, especially stomach and intestinal side effects, which can be fatal. If you are an elderly patient, this drug should be used with caution.
Adverse reactions can be minimized by taking the minimum dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.
Anti-inflammatory/pain relievers such as ketoprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses and for a long time. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.
Avoid using Okitasc with other medications containing NSAIDs (eg, ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid, celecoxib).
Stop taking this medication if you have vision problems such as blurred vision.
Because Okitasc is used to treat symptoms such as fever, it may mask a more serious underlying condition. If your symptoms persist, tell your doctor.
